how do referees get onto the fifa list

They have to referee on their top league to a high standard and then be nominated by their football association to FIFA, who in turn make the final decision.

Hi Chris, I am 46 and I am a contributory league assistant. Am I to old to make the level to level 3. Tommy Pinder Lancaster

I am not sure. However Pete Walton has been retained on the select list and will therefore be over 48 years whilst still active. I am not quite clear on this one but I am pretty sure there is no age discrimination anymore. It is purely performance based.

what advice would you give to develop your man management skills towards the more unruly and difficult players in the game.

Don't look for trouble. Only get involved when you have to. When you do be firm but fair. I once was obsessed with working with a troublesome player so that he wouldn't offend. Total waste of time. I now only get involved when I have to.
