Referee: Rob Styles
Appointed to the FIFA International Referees list in 2002 and appointed as FA Cup Final referee in 2005.
Week 9
Matthew Leary, England
Hello Rob. Would you like to see the introduction, or trial, of sin-bins in football (similar to that in Rugby) for certain offences, such as dissent towards match officials?
Personally I have always been in favour of a sin bin as it punishes the team of the offender immediatly and not some weeks later.
Phil Kirchin, England
You are reffing a game which is 89 mins and 59 secs old, and, as you are about to blow for full time, there is a foul in the penalty area which warrants the award of a penalty kick! Is it a penalty or is it too late!
No it certainly is not too late, if it is a foul it is a penalty and then play is extended to allow the result of the kick.
Michael Lowe, England
Have you had any other career ambitions or even side-projects that you could or couldn't fit around your refereeing career? Also, how many days off in an average month would you get?
I have never had a problem balancing my on and off field work and tend to do some kind of work most days.

From where I am at Level 2 you need to be under 40 and good enough!
