WINNING QUIZ IS GOOD FOR HEALTH TOO
That's the verdict of our recent prize winners who are making use of their heart rate monitors
There has been double delight in households in the UK and Canada in recent weeks as news filtered through of the success of our December and January quiz winners.
Aaron Gubeli of Kelowna in Canada was our refworld.com quiz winner for December and earlier this week we were able to confirm John Scott from Buckingham as our top performer in January.
The monthly winners have both picked up a Polar heart rate monitor after topping the charts and both are already looking forward to the benefits the prize will offer them.
John, who is currently a Level 3 Referee, hopes the monitor will help him progress to a higher level: “I think it will be a great tool to help with my training and to monitor my performance during matches.
“I am delighted to have won, as it proves I have a good understanding of the laws.
“The site is useful to me as it keeps me up to speed with all our refereeing matters. Normally I log-on to the site a couple of times a week and usually take part in the quiz during those visits.”
It was a similar verdict from Aaron who added: “It is amazing that I actually won the Refworld quiz. It is a great way for me to challenge my knowledge of the laws of the game, while competing against other referees all around the world.
“The heart rate monitor is great as it helps me follow the weekly fitness programme while ensuring I am training at the correct intensity and it's also great for match day, as I can review my recovery times and ensure that I am fit enough for the skill level I am refereeing.
“Refworld.com is a great resource for referees of all ages as it provides great insight into the life of a referee.”
