GET ON WITH IT!
Last weekend saw the kick-off of the new Premier League season and the Get On With It Programme
Last weekend not only saw the kickoff of the new Premier League season but also of the Get On With It Programme.
Following the official launch last week a number of new procedures have been introduced to try to help combat unacceptable behaviour in our game, at every level, both on the pitch and from the sidelines.
60 minutes prior to kickoff referees will now meet with the Managers and Captains from both teams so that everyone is aware of how the initiative will be conducted on the field of play.
When on the pitch the captains now have added responsibility, being part of the management process to ensure a better playing atmosphere between players and officials.
Managers on the other hand have been reminded on their responsibility within the technical areas, berating either the referee or assistant referee or fourth official in a public way will result in him being sent to the stands. Also when it comes to the technical area, tv monitors / laptops or broadcast equipment are no longer allowed.
The two teams also now enter the field of play following the Get On With It flag, and once they have lined up the music is played and the ceremonial Respect handshake commences.
Other changes include that any form of jewellery is no longer acceptable, all must be removed and not covered with tape as was previously allowed.
This poster was sent out to every Premier League and Football League Club to make sure everyone was aware of the changes.
