How did you get introduced into refereeing?
I was originally a manager for a school football team and I got into refereeing from there.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Refereeing a County Senior Cup Final.
What is the best game you have officiated and why?
Derby County v Wolves, Boxing Day 2006. A great game, as well as a great atmosphere.
What are your aims as a National List Assistant Referee?
To get every decision correct.
What skills do you think you need to become a assistant referee?
The three C's: Confidence, Concentration and Consistency.
Who has been the biggest influence in your career and why?
Every Member of North Staffs Referees Club. For the advice from some and keeping my feet on the ground from the others.
In your opinion who is/was the best assistant referee?
Past: John Hilditch, Tony Bates and Mark Warren. Present: Phil Sharp
