How did you get introduced into refereeing?
I started aged 14 as I was a rubbish player and never got a full game for the team I played for. Once I started officiating I was hooked.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Reaching the National List of Assistant Referees!
What is the best game you have officiated and why?
As a Referee, the Under 18 Academy Final last season - Aston Villa v Manchester City. Great game in a fantastic stadium.
As an Assistant, the match between Swindon Town and Leeds United this season. An enjoyable match in a cracking atmosphere.
What are your aims as a National List Assistant Referee?
To prove my worth and to be appointed to some of the big games!
What skills do you think you need to become an Assistant Referee?
Communication, teamwork, determination, concentration and a willingness to learn all the time.
Who has been the biggest influence in your career and why?
My colleagues who have helped with honest advice and support.
In your opinion who is/was the best Assistant Referee?
Phil Sharp - reaching the World Cup Final is the ultimate achievement.
