I have always had an interest in refereeing as my dad used to referee and I would attend as many games as possible with him, but it was my wife who suggested I enrol on the local refereeing course in 2001, I suppose at 26 I was a late starter but I have never looked back.

My family have been the driving force throughout my career, especially the last couple of seasons as I have progressed through the system, they understand that all the training and hard work brings rewards.
